Course History
Long before recorded history, the land that is now River Bend Links was inhabited by various tribes of American Indians and the abundant wildlife which still roam the area: deer, fox, raccoon, wild turkey and coyote. In the early 1800s, the Indians traded the parcel to the Leatherman family. One of their burial mounds, which was left undisturbed by the Leathermans, can still be seen near the family home. For generations, the land served as cotton fields, until the Leathermans sold the picturesque site to Casino Strip Resorts for the construction of a magnificent new golf course.
